Overview:
Will the adoption of innovation play a role in America's health reform?
How do we assess whether or not health information technology (health IT) is a wise investment in terms of innovation?
We've found an innovation that interests us, now what?
How do we determine if this innovation is compatible with our organization?
Are we ready for change?
Can we sustain this innovation?
This Web conference introduces participants to Will it Work Here? A Decisionmaker's Guide to Adopting Innovations. This guide is designed to help users determine whether an innovation is a good fit—or an appropriate stretch for their health care organization. Using an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Health Care Innovations Profile as an example, experts in management of change and adoption of innovation will apply the tools in the guide to demonstrate effective innovation adoption decisionmaking.

The potential adoption of an innovation, Remote Visits by Pediatricians for Sick Children at Inner-City and Other Child Care Centers/Schools Reduce Absences and Emergency Department Use, will be explored during this Web conference. It targets primary care to a priority population, incorporates a health IT component, and once fully implemented has the potential to reduce emergency department visits.
