The Sociedad Iberoamericana de Bioinformática / Iberoamerican Bioinformatics Society (SoIBio) and Centro de Bioinformática y Simulación Molecular (Univ. Talca, Chile) with the suppport and collaboration of FreeBIT (CYTED, Spain) and PROSUL (LNCC, CNPq-Brasil), are pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Bioinformatics SoIBio 2010 (SoIBio 2010), to be held:

The Sociedad Iberoamericana de Bioinformática / Iberoamerican Bioinformatics Society (SoIBio) and Centro de Bioinformática y Simulación Molecular (Univ. Talca, Chile) with the suppport and collaboration of FreeBIT (CYTED, Spain) and PROSUL (LNCC, CNPq-Brasil), are pleased to announce the 1st International Conference on Bioinformatics SoIBio 2010 (SoIBio 2010), to be held:

from September 26th to September 28th, 2010

at Termas de Chillán, Chile (http://www.termaschillan.cl/).

SoIBio (http://www.soibio.org/) is a new born International Society focus on the promotion and development of Bioinformatics and Computaional Biology in Iberoamerica promoting collaborative research, supporting scientific activities of national societies and encouraging their interaction with other international associations related. SoIBio also wants to continue the great work achieved along last years in this region by the Iberoamerican Network for Bioinformatics (RIB), providing a more stable frame for the promotion and development of Bioinformatics.


We have prepared an academic and social program intended to provide an optimal environment for scientific discussion and collaborative research. In this newsletter you can find relevant information related to meeting program, the registration and accommodation booking. Also attached are instructions for preparing abstracts and to apply for scholarships. We look forward to your participation to give prominence to our annual conference.

We would also appreciate if you would disseminate information about SoIBio 2010 throughout your department or institution. It’s a great honor to have you here attending this meeting in Termas de Chillán.


REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION BOOKING.


Deadline for registration and accommodation booking will be July 31st. After this date housing is not guaranteed and there will be an additional charge. The registration and accommodation booking forms will be announced very soon.



II.- ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE.


The deadline for abstract submissions for oral presentations and posters is August 15th. Abstracts should be submitted through our website http://cbsm.utalca.cl/soibio2010/ following the instructions there. For posters, the abstract should follow the template attached to this Newsletter (Abstract_submission.pdf). For security you should send a copy of your abstract (oral or poster) to soibio.chile@gmail.com

Every member can send oral presentations without restriction of number. We will communicate with you as soon as possible indicating the day and session of your presentation(s). Abstracts will only be accepted on receipt of registration fees.



III. ACCESS TO TERMAS DE CHIILLLAN, CHILE.


The SoIBio organization is going to set up travel from Santiago to Las Termas de Chillán if a minimum of people needs the service. This service has to be paid by each member. If you need this service please contact mopazo@utalca.cl who will send you a form and itineraries.
