Healthcare Provider Toolkit | One and Only Campaign
Tom McKnight, M.D., has seen first-hand the devastation caused when syringes and saline bags are reused on multiple patients. His wife was one of 99 Nebraskans infected with hepatitis C in 2000 while receiving treatment for cancer. Unfortunately, outbreaks due to unsafe injection practices continue to happen.
Patient infections due to unsafe injection practices are preventable when healthcare providers follow CDC recommendations. Dr. McKnight urges his colleagues to use the Safe Injection Practices Coalition’s Toolkit at an upcoming staff meeting to ensure everyone is following CDC-recommended practices.
