New Health Insurance Data from the MEPS Survey Now Available on the MEPS Website.
Tables of Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance Estimates from the 2011 MEPS Insurance Component Survey. These summary tables provide national-, state-, and metro-level estimates of offers and enrollments; number and types of insurance plans; premiums, benefits, contributions by employers and employees; and employer characteristics. In addition to the tables, there are two statistical briefs that report on specific estimates from the tables.
- Single coverage premiums averaged $5,222 per year compared with $10,329 for employee-plus-one premiums and $15,022 for family premiums - From Statistical Brief 376: Employer-Sponsored Single, Employee-Plus-One, and Family Health Insurance Coverage in the Private Sector: Selection and Cost, 2011.
- Nationwide, 17.3 percent of employees with single coverage, 7.9 percent with employee-plus-one coverage, and 9.7 percent with family coverage made no contribution toward their premiums. - From Statistical Brief 375: State Differences in the Cost of Job-Related Health Insurance, 2011.
Health Insurance Coverage Tables for the full year 2010 (Tables 1a-5a) from the MEPS Household Component are now available. These summary tables include data on health insurance coverage by type of coverage and selected population characteristics.
