National Youth HIV and AIDS Awareness Day

Today's young people are the first generation that has never known a world without HIV and AIDS. Nearly 10,000 young people (aged 13-24) were diagnosed with HIV infection in the United States in 2013. Yet, only 1 in 5 sexually experienced U.S. high school students have ever been tested for HIV. CDC collects and reports data on youthhealth risk behaviors to study trends in youth sexual behavior, identify critical health events, and monitor progress over time.
