SAMHSA Headlines: Bath Salts Contribute to Thousands of Emergency Department Visits

A new SAMHSA national report reveals that "bath salts," a group of drugs containing amphetamine-type stimulants, were linked to an estimated 22,904 visits to hospital emergency departments in 2011.
SAMHSA launched this Challenge in May to help decrease high-risk drinking among college students. The first-place prize went to Syracuse University's BeWise website.
The SAMHSA-sponsored Helpline, 800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746, offers counseling to those affected by human-caused and natural disasters.
