Register Now for June 3 CAHPS® Webcast on Reporting Patients’ Comments

Register Now for June 3 CAHPS® Webcast on Reporting Patients’ Comments

AHRQ is hosting a free webcast June 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET that will focus on the use of patient comments to inform consumers about health care providers. Researchers will discuss an ongoing AHRQ study of the impact of reporting patients’ comments with standardized measures of physician quality, including the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) measures of patient experience and clinical measures. The speakers in the webcast will discuss how patients’ comments affect perceptions and use of standardized measures in public reports; how to collect comments that are representative, well-balanced and aligned with the aspects of patient experience proven to be important to consumers; and how to report comments in a way that reduces complexity and strengthens overall value of comparative information on health care providers.

Speakers:
  • Steven Martino, Ph.D., behavioral scientist, RAND, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Rachel Grob, Ph.D., director of national initiatives, University of Wisconsin, Madison
  • Mark Schlesinger, Ph.D., professor of health policy, Yale School of Public Health, New Haven, Connecticut
  • Dale Shaller, managing director, CAHPS Database; Shaller Consulting Group, Stillwater, Minnesota  (Moderator)
CAHPS® surveys ask consumers about their experiences with health care. The CAHPS program at AHRQ supports the development and promotion of CAHPS surveys, toolkit materials and comparative databases, and provides technical assistance to users.
Registration is open.
