| Ebola Viral Disease Outbreak — West Africa, 2014 Meredith G. Dixon, MD, Ilana J. Schafer, DVM. MMWR 2014;63:1–4. An outbreak of Ebola viral disease (EVD) first reported in March in Guinea soon spread to Liberia and Sierra Leone. As of June 18, the EVD outbreak had become the largest ever documented, with a total of 528 cases, including 337 deaths (case-fatality rate = 64%), reported by the three countries. |
