Speaking up: factors and issues in nurses advocating for patients when patients are in jeopardy.

This review discusses factors that influence nurses' willingness to raise concerns about patient safety. The author proposes a framework to help understand and address how generational, cultural, and organizationaldifferences might prevent nurses from speaking up.
