Check out the updated Health Care Law Toolkit!

Open enrollment is right around the corner and HHS is getting prepared to help faith and community leaders educate others about the new health insurance options individuals have available through the health insurance marketplaces.  Our newly updated Health Care Law Toolkit includes key information about enrolling in health insurance during open enrollment which starts November 1 and ends January 31, 2015.   It also includes ideas for how you can get involved.  These materials can also be used at enrollment events and for other education and outreach efforts. Walgreens to Provide Up To $15 Million Worth of Free Flu Shot Vouchers for Uninsured and Underinsured Americans

Walgreens is providing up to $15 million worth of free flu shot vouchers this flu season through its collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which aims to improve immunization rates among uninsured Americans.Read more

AWARDED: SAMHSA provides up to $73 million to support people with mental and substance use disorders in the criminal justice system
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announced that it is providing up to $73 million over three years for programs offering treatment services to people involved in the criminal justice system that have mental and/or substance use disorders.  Read more

AWARDED: SAMHSA provides up to $312.2 million in tribal and state youth programs to prevent and treat mental and substance use disorders
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded up to $312.2 million in funding for behavioral health services over the next five years for tribal and state youth promoting prevention, treatment, and recovery from mental and substance use disorders. Read more

AWARDED: Grants aim to reduce opioid overdoses in rural communities
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced that $1.8 million will be provided to support rural communities in reducing morbidity and mortality related to opioid overdoses.  Read more
