Next Avenue Names Kathy Greenlee a 2015 Influencer in Aging

Please join us in congratulating Kathy Greenlee, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Aging and ACL's administrator, on being named a 2015 Influencer in Aging byNext Avenue. The Influencers in Aging list highlights 50 thought leaders, researchers, experts, executives and everyday people who are redefining what it means to grow older in America.
Greenlee was recognized for her leadership in creating ACL, which brought together as one agency much of the federal government’s work to ensure older adults and people with disabilities are able to live independently and participate fully in their communities. Next Avenue also cited her commitment to elder justice, along with her work to end discrimination against LGBT seniors.
She is joined on the list by Nora Super, executive director of the 2015 White House Conference on Aging.  Super earned the honor for harnessing technology and innovative thinking to include unprecedented numbers of people in the day-long conference hosted by President Obama and the events leading up to it. The work of this year’s Conference will influence national policies on aging now and for the next decade.
Nora Dowd Eisenhower, assistant director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Older Americans, was featured for her work in preventing financial abuse among older adults. Some of her efforts include alerting people about potential inaccuracies in reverse mortgage advertising and advising older Americans on addressing debt collection problems.
