Safety first! Using a checklist for intrafacility transport of adult intensive care patients.

Moving patients from one area of a facility to another can be complicated by insufficient team preparation and communication. This commentary describes the development and testing of achecklist designed to address those gaps by standardizing intrahospital transport and providing criteria to identify patients at high risk for problems during the process.
