ONC Privacy Policy Snapshot Challenge Submissions Deadline ApproachingThe Model Privacy Notice Snapshot Challenge deadline is less than two weeks away! The Privacy Policy Snapshot Challenge builds on ONC’s efforts to update the Model Privacy Notice (MPN) for the modern mobile health landscape. The challenge calls on you – the designers, developers, health data privacy experts, and anyone else – to use the content from the MPN template and create an online tool that can generate a user-friendly snapshot of a product’s privacy practices. Submissions are due Monday, April 10, 2017 by 2:00pm ET.

SAMHSA: 42 CFR Part 2 ModernizationThe Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recently modernized the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records regulations (42 CFR Part 2) to facilitate health integration and information exchange within new health care models while continuing to protect the privacy and confidentiality of patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders. The rule, expected to be effective March 21, 2017, is published in the Federal Register.
