Barriers to speaking up about patient safety concerns.

Difficulty speaking up about safety concerns is a prevalent safety culture deficiency. This survey study found that common barriers to speaking up include fear of being wrong and fear of retaliation. As with prior studies, barriers to speaking up were associated with worse safety culture scores.
