Urgent care centers are great assets in large-scale emergencies.

There are more than 8,000 urgent care centers (UCCs) across the US, and they offer a variety of services to local communities in convenient locations at reasonable cost. But UCCs are untapped resources in emergency management. Although most centers are willing and eager to participate in emergency response, they might not have the knowledge or capacity for a sustained response.
