2016 Kids' Inpatient Database (KID) Released (9/18/18) The 2016 KID is available for purchase through the HCUP Central Distributor. This is the first release of the KID since 2012.

2016 Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) Released Released (8/15/18) The 2016 NRD is available for purchase through the HCUP Central Distributor.

2016 National Inpatient Sample (NIS) Released (8/15/18) The latest version of the NIS is available for purchase through the HCUP Central Distributor. The 2016 NIS includes a full calendar year of data with diagnosis and procedure codes reported using the ICD-10-CM/PCS coding system.

HCUP Fast Stats Opioid Map and Data Update (6/27/18) HCUP Fast Stats has released a new Interactive U.S. Map of Opioid-Related Hospital Use which presents inpatient and emergency department (ED) rates per 100,000 population in 2015. Information has also been updated in the State Trends in Hospital Use by Payer to include additional 2015-2017 State data.
