For about 69 million Americans, Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will increase 1.6 percent by January 2020. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will impact more than 63 million Social Security beneficiaries in January 2020 and over 8 million SSI beneficiaries beginning on December 31, 2019.
