Int J Med Inform. 2023;180:105241. Pediatric medication management, in particular, requires precise dosing based on a wide range of variables including age, weight, and metabolism. This review sought to evaluate existing machine learning algorithms for medication dosing to determine which algorithms may perform best for children. Algorithms based on regression methods or decision trees performed best, but, because only 1 of the 36 studies were pediatric, significant further research is required.
