Researchers have documented treatment courts’ ability to reduce recidivism among participants; however, one topic of concern has been racial and ethnic disparities in treatment court outcomes. The RED tool is a web-based survey geared to examine treatment courts’ operations and procedures, with an emphasis on probing areas where racial and ethnic disparities may be produced. This webinar will cover a review of research on racial and ethnic disparities in treatment courts, an overview of the RED tool, a summary of key findings from RED tool data, and an introduction to American University’s training and technical assistance approach.
