Update: In a 6-3 ruling on June 28, 2024, the US Supreme Court overturned the Chevron deference framework. Federal courts will no longer be required to defer to regulations of administrative agencies that set a reasonable interpretation of unclear laws passed by Congress. A forthcoming analysis will examine some of the implications of the Supreme Court decision for health care.
