But the overall number of cases of the highly infectious disease has increased as well. The report focuses on 2024, meaning that it doesn’t touch at all on this year’s large ongoing measles outbreak in the U.S. and Canada, which led the latter country to lose its measles-free status and left the status of the former’s elimination status in doubt.
