Alex Trebek says he’s in near-remission from pancreatic cancer

Here’s some good news to end with: “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek sharedin an interview that he is in near-remission. Ever since Trebek first announced his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March, he has kept fans in the loop about his progress. In an interview with People magazine, Trebek says that some of his tumors have shrunk by more than 50%, a response he calls “kind of mind-boggling.” His positive response to the treatment is also something his doctors say they hadn’t seen in their memory. Some 3% of late-stage pancreatic cancer patients are alive five years past diagnosis, according to the American Cancer Society. Trebek says that he still has several more rounds of treatment to undergo, and I (an avid “Jeopardy!” fan) wish him well!
