Starting on Monday, San Francisco’s Union Square neighborhood will play host to one of biotech’s most important events of the year: a week of news, dealmaking, and networking centered around the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. I’ll be on the ground in Union Square all week long covering the gathering, as will my STAT colleagues Adam Feuerstein, Damian Garde, Matt Herper, and Ed Silverman.

In Las Vegas, the makers of gadgets and gizmos are gathering on Tuesday for the big annual trade show for consumer tech. The Consumer Electronics Show, known as CES, has increasingly emphasized health tech in recent years.
