This 16-page report provides information about the Contingency Fund for Emergencies (CFE), which was established by the World Health Assembly in May 2015 following a review of the World Health Organization (WHO)’s response to the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The lack of a mechanism that would allow WHO to disburse money quickly to enable the early stages of an emergency response was one of the factors that contributed to the slow 2014 Ebola response. The CFE was set up to address this gap. (PDF)
