Everyone has a role in infection prevention

AHRQ supports International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), which helps raise awareness about how infection prevention improves patient safety. Together, we can all help prevent the spread of infections.

AHRQ has proven tools and resources for various settings that can help health care providers reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and prevent antibiotic resistance. For instance, AHRQ’s Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) promotes teamwork and communication, which helps reduce patient harm and improve safety. Access the various CUSP toolkits that facilities can implement to control HAIs.
