Children and adolescents may worry about themselves, their families, and their friends getting ill with COVID-19. Parents, family members, school staff, and other trusted adults can play an important role in helping children and adolescents make sense of what they hear in a way that is honest, accurate, and minimizes anxiety or fear.

Join the CDC’s Emergency Partners Information Connection (EPIC) and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) on Wednesday, July 22nd at 3 p.m. ET.

Dr. Melissa Brymer, Director of the Terrorism and Disaster Program UCLA/Duke University
National Center for Child Traumatic Stress will discuss possible ways to support young people during COVID-19. Dr. Brymer will also describe NCTSN’s available resources and outline how to have conversations with children and adolescents about what is happening. Closed captioning will be available.
