Lawmakers continue to discuss U.S. response to Covid-19

There are several health care topics on the agenda for lawmakers on Capitol Hill today, including the ongoing pandemic. At noon, a House committee on homeland security will hold a hearing with city- and state-level officials on the response to the pandemic, while another House committee on financial services will hear from experts on the implementation of AI to help with contact tracing efforts, with a special focus on ensuring privacy. Later in the afternoon, a House Budget Committee hearing will examine the role of federal dollars when it comes to fueling R&D efforts in both the public and private sectors.
