Tell Congress: Patients Deserve Better
Tell Washington: Protect Access to New Medicines
Víctor Norberto,
Some in Congress are proposing legislation that would give the federal government unprecedented, sweeping authority to set prices for medicines.
While some would have you believe this is “negotiation,” it isn’t. They essentially just want the government to dictate medicine prices. Arbitrary government price setting will decimate the innovative ecosystem in the United States that has brought hope to so many Americans in the form of new medical advances where before there were none.
No matter what they call it, the latest drug pricing plan in the reconciliation package will result in the same outcome: negative consequences for patients.
Stand Up for Patient Access ▸
Why does this matter to you?
Because government price setting could mean fewer new medicines in the coming years. Nearly 1/5 of research and development investment could be lost by 2039 if these price setting proposals are implemented. Will your health or a loved one's be impacted?
What can be done?
Given your interest in a strong American innovation ecosystem, we’re asking you to let Congress know that patients deserve better. They must reject proposals that jeopardize lifesaving treatments and cures and work on real solutions to make sure patients can afford their medicines at the pharmacy counter. The latest drug pricing plan is a detriment to patients and the future of medical research.
This alert is to let you know this proposal is being considered. As a subscriber to the PhRMA Innovation newsletter, now is your chance to voice your concerns about the impact it would have on you, your family and patients throughout the country.
