Margolis, MD, Center for Health Policy at Duke University, is hosting the 15th Annual Sentinel Initiative Public Workshop on November 08, 2023. The workshop will be a hybrid virtual and in-person workshop at the National Press Club is free. The workshop will provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss recent achievements and developments as well as engage with the broader community of patients, consumers, and scientific stakeholders. The workshop will feature a keynote from Dr. Janet Woodcock, FDA Principal Deputy Commissioner. Participants will hear from FDA leadership on major developments and milestones including accomplishments, important regulatory outcomes, and methodology improvements to date. Topics will include Sentinel accomplishments of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan; how the Biologics Effectiveness and Safety (BEST) System is leveraged to address vaccine safety; and key updates regarding the National Evaluation System for health Technology (NEST).
