The Lancet Psychiatry Commission on intimate partner violence and mental health: advancing mental health services, research, and policy

Intimate partner violence (IPV) is the most common form of violence worldwide. Most victims of IPV are women—globally, an estimated 27% of women aged 15 years or older have experienced physical or sexual IPV—but high rates of IPV are also experienced by other marginalised groups. Exposure to IPV increases the likelihood of developing a range of mental health problems. The presence of mental health problems also makes individuals more vulnerable to experiencing IPV. Although IPV is endemic, it is not inevitable. Targets for intervention range from parenting or school-based programmes, to the prevention and treatment of substance misuse, and support for secondary or higher education for women. Survivors should be fundamental to the development and assessment of IPV measures and integrated support services. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/home?dgcid=hubspot_email_jcr23_lanpsy&utm_campaign=jcr23&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=272112761&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-9D4cfFB_AE9rdiZXzAkDOgy0ZsJ6arH4QOuI_3mrfYzcocOBRBLgjCN3rltwm8vbmWb4rLc9iPVLHmRoxeMufPKIakjw&utm_content=272112761&utm_source=hs_automation Oct 2023 Volume 10Number 10p733-816, e26-e27 Complex PTSD as mediator of psychosis after childhood trauma Nynke A Groenewold https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/issue/current Psilocybin with psychological support for treatment-resistant depression: an open-label feasibility study https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/article/PIIS2215-0366(16)30065-7/fulltext?dgcid=hubspot_email_jcr23_lanpsy&utm_campaign=jcr23&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=272112761&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_kET3q-mDnJIfytp9vlwFtVjWU4dToppCDWsewWjcLLPkRV2otTFBoYhSBUreZX7ZQFz3Hxi_UPDeBLWGqjaPEdfO_OA&utm_content=272112761&utm_source=hs_automation Maintenance ketamine treatment for depression: a systematic review of efficacy, safety, and tolerability https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/article/PIIS2215-0366(22)00317-0/fulltext?dgcid=hubspot_email_jcr23_lanpsy&utm_campaign=jcr23&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=272112761&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-88Nzrncy8UQWQ8iFz_nE-RF0RjYgu54JhSNoJHxolGA5kE7_-WYUdJmJ8UTVcShh15GGFmkLR7zNB0W1XiSRq-NMTKaQ&utm_content=272112761&utm_source=hs_automation The Lancet Psychiatry Commission on intimate partner violence and mental health: advancing mental health services, research, and policy https://www.thelancet.com/commissions/intimate-partner-violence?dgcid=hubspot_email_jcr23_lanpsy&utm_campaign=jcr23&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=272112761&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--ZShSJ13rPWVaCiR5zrnLXWcxfNKobDYZ2IrAlnd9Oxd_S3lqOZ3o38glol67F6KB3-CqJd5TDzMCgHcs2Zpp49gZqZQ&utm_content=272112761&utm_source=hs_automation Neurological and psychiatric risk trajectories after SARS-CoV-2 infection: an analysis of 2-year retrospective cohort studies including 1 284 437 patients https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanpsy/article/PIIS2215-0366(22)00260-7/fulltext?dgcid=hubspot_email_jcr23_lanpsy&utm_campaign=jcr23&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=272112761&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_K1B9nsDdqHUm4tsQwv8O7tdvA9WUMLI3WPE71aratISU-O6RHxB_FdgfryYIPNBE3F7faSqLWm1LcMhxNGUqDWvtkpQ&utm_content=272112761&utm_source=hs_automation
