This cross-sectional study examined the association between hospital patient safety culture and performance on Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Value-Based Purchasing (HVBP) metrics. The researchers found that a positive patient safety culture was associated with better overall hospital performance scores and better scores on specific HVBP domains reflecting safety and patient engagement.
