Fiber Intake and Laxation in People With Normal Bowel Function: The aim of this systematic review is to summarize the findings from interventional studies addressing the association between amount, type, characterization, and format of fiber consumed and laxation outcomes (related to gut motility). To serve the needs of the NASEM DRI committee, the review focuses on the general population; in this instance, people with generally normal bowel function.
