H.R. 6 SIGNED INTO LAW

President Trump signed into law on Wednesday, H.R. 6, the “Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act,” also known as the “SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act.”

From ensuring a whole-patient approach to treatment to providing specialized care for the infant born that's born every 15 minutes with neonatal abstinence (NAS) disorder to improving foster care funding and programs, this new law seeks to tackle several "fronts" of the ongoing opioid crisis that is ravaging lives, families and our communities.

Here are key aspects of the bill:
  • Address the Driving Forces of the Opioid Crisis
  • Reduce Demand and Over-Prescription
  • Cutting Off the Supply of Illicit Drugs
  • Helping Those Struggling with Addiction
  • Historic Congressional Action to Combat the Crisis
