Attend the Follow up Office Hours for the Wave 3 Clinical Subcommittee Meetings on MACRA Cost Measure Development
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and its measure development contractor, Acumen, LLC, are hosting office hour sessions to provide updates from the Wave 3 Clinical Subcommittee (CS) meetings, which took place between May 29 and June 3, 2019. Stakeholders are welcome to discuss any questions regarding topics that were covered during these meetings and next steps.
Acumen, LLC convened the CS to obtain input on:
- Episode groups to develop for their potential use as cost measures in the cost performance category of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS); and
- The composition of workgroups that will provide detailed clinical input on specifications for each of the episode groups. CS meetings were convened for the following clinical areas:
- Chronic Condition and Disease Management
- Dermatologic Disease Management
- General and Colorectal Surgery
- Hospital Medicine
The Chronic Condition and Disease Management CS represents the first opportunity to provide input on episode groups for cost measures focused on clinicians who treat patients with chronic conditions.
For next steps, Acumen will convene measure-specific workgroups in August 2019 to obtain input on each aspect of the measure specifications for the episode groups. For more details about the measure development process and development activities undertaken in previous years, please see this summary on the MACRA Feedback Page.
The times and dates for the two office hour sessions are:
- Tuesday, July 2: 3:00 - 4:00pm ET
- Wednesday, July 10: 5:00 - 6:00pm ET
