This 10-page document is the fifth update of a rapid risk assessment originally produced on August 9, 2018, about the Ebola virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It addresses the potential public health impact of Ebola virus disease for the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA), and assesses the likelihood of international expansion. The overall risk of introduction and further spread of the Ebola virus within the EU/EEA remains very low. However, the risk can be eliminated only by stopping transmission at the local level in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. (PDF)
