An update on Congress and coronavirus
Lobbyists and reporters alike are still scratching their heads as to whether the Senate will pass a new coronavirus response package anytime soon, but that hasn’t stopped lawmakers from making some news.
Namely, bipartisan leadership of the House Energy & Commerce Committee is pushing the Trump administration for a national vaccine strategy that focuses “on manufacturing capabilities and how they will be brought to necessary scale, recommendations for prioritization and allocation of vaccines to at-risk populations … guidance on provider training, and public education and outreach efforts, as well as coverage considerations.” They also have a series of questions for the White House’s coronavirus coordinator, Deborah Birx, which they lay out in a new letter here.
