Many clinical laboratory staff members find mapping test results for electronic laboratory reporting systems challenging due to the numerous test platforms available. Using the codes defined in the LOINC In Vitro Diagnostic (LIVD) mapping tool synchronizes code selection between health care systems to identify and report SARS-CoV-2 test results in electronic reporting systems and, in turn, facilitates timely and quality data reporting to state and federal public health agencies.
