A third of women want to put off having kids due to Covid-19

New data from the Guttmacher Institute find that a third of women say they want to delay pregnancy or have fewer children because of the pandemic. More than 2,000 women were surveyed between the end of April and early May this year. Nearly half of Black and Hispanic women expressed wanting to postpone or limit pregnancy due to the pandemic, compared to 28% of white women. Queer women were also more likely to want to delay having a child compared to heterosexual women. Black, Hispanic, and queer women were also more likely to say they had a difficult time accessing contraceptives due to the pandemic.
