Some updates on China's Covid-19 testing
As of last Monday, China has conducted more than 90 million nucleic acid-based tests for Covid-19, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing a press conference held by the State Council last week.
According to government officials from the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the country has been boosting its testing capacity, raising the number of tests it can run per day from 1.26 million in early March to the current 3.78 million.
China has also been trying to lower the price of testing as its capacity expands. Though costs can vary across the country, some provinces, such as the hard-hit Hubei province, have a price cap of $25 for nucleic acid-testing, and $7 for antibody testing.
