New AHRQ Chartbook on Minority Healthcare

Focus on Asians and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (NHPI)

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released a new Chartbook on Healthcare for Asians, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders that summarizes trends in healthcare and disparities and shows selected demographics. Highlights include:
  • Asian and NHPI populations continue to be among the higher performing groups on patient safety measures and experienced improvements in appropriate prescription medicines for seniors, more effective care for people suffering a stroke, and rates of vaccine for pneumonia.
  • Asian and NHPI populations experienced disparities in several areas related to person- and family-centered care, access to care, experience with home healthcare, and language assistance.
