NOT-HS-20-009: Special Emphasis Notice (SEN): AHRQ Announces Interest in Research on Improving Organizational Health Literacy to Prevent and Manage Chronic Disease

AHRQ Encourages Research on Organizational Health Literacy

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has published a Special Emphasis Notice inviting applications that focus on studying the effect of organizational health literacy strategies to prevent and manage chronic conditions.

More research is needed into how best to integrate organizational health literacy strategies into organizational operations, and how to spread and scale effective organizational health literacy strategies within and across organizations. AHRQ wants to promote research on the effects of organizational health literacy strategies on people with limited health literacy who have, or are at risk of having, chronic conditions. AHRQ is especially interested in studying the impact of organizational health literacy strategies on disparities, on people who receive care from safety net providers, and on people with multiple chronic conditions.
