Covid-19 vaccines will probably have (mild) side effects
We’re still waiting for details from the ongoing large clinical trials for Covid-19 vaccines, but experts tell STAT’s Helen Branswell that they may come with side effects. These inoculations are likely “reactogenic,” meaning they could prompt discomfort in some people who have received them — manifesting in symptoms like headache, sore arms, fatigue, chills, and fever.
Experts aren’t particularly concerned, but think the broader public should be educated on what to expect from a vaccine.
“As with many vaccines, we have found that if we let people know what to expect, then they have fewer concerns if side effects happen,” one told STAT.
