NIAID Small Business Alerts

We cover two items below:
  • Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) Program
  • NIA SBIR/STTR Virtual Workshop
The Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) Program Funding Opportunity (Technical Assistance and Late Stage R&D; Clinical Trial Not Allowed) has been reissued. All NIAID CRP applicants should use the new Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) PAR-20-129 for all future due dates including September 8th, 2020.
PAR-20-129 updates and clarifies CRP application instructions and guidance. Significantly, the application and award type for concurrent SBIR/STTR Phase II/CRP awards has been changed. Applicants with significant time left on their Phase II or IIB award should now submit a “Type 1” New application, and will be able to request up 3 full years of funding (regardless of end date of their Phase II award). It is no longer possible to apply for a “Type 3” Revision. All applications will now use the “SB1” Activity Code.
CRP continues to facilitate the transition of previously or currently funded SBIR and STTR Phase II and Phase IIB projects to the commercialization stage by providing additional support for technical assistance and later stage research and development (R&D) not typically supported through Phase II or Phase IIB grants or contracts. Eligibility requirements have not changed; NIAID applicants with an active or recently ended Phase II or IIB SBIR/STTR award are welcome to apply. Please review the reissued FOA carefully for details.
Please feel free to contact us at NIAIDSBIR@mail.nih.gov with questions or concerns.
