Biden to speak on a Covid-19 vaccine Wednesday
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will deliver remarks Wednesday on “developing and equitably distributing a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine,” the Biden campaign announced late Monday. The public event will follow a private briefing from public health officials.
The event comes one week after Biden and Trump each accused each other of politicizing the search for an eventual vaccine.
It’s unclear if Biden will break new ground Wednesday. Biden has already said he would invest $25 billion in a vaccine manufacturing and distribution plan, and he has promised to publicly release clinical data for any approved Covid-19 vaccine and to “authorize career staff to write a written report for public review and permit them to appear before Congress and speak publicly uncensored.”
