The Evolution of Latino Identities and Mental Health – Webinar

This is a basic level workshop designed for mental health providers including psychologists, clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and graduate level students in the mental health field. The webinar will address the different terms that have been used to describe Latino populations and the evolution of such terms throughout history. Presenters will discuss how different generations may use different terms to self-identify and variables involved in this process such as acculturation and assimilation. The presentation will consider anthropological and psychosocial contexts in ethnic identification, as well as their impact on the mental health of Latino populations.
