Making an infusion error: the second victims of infusion therapy-related medication errors.

Providers involved in medical errors may experience emotional distress, referred to as the second victim effect. The authors of this survey study describe nursing graduates' experiences after being involved in medication administration errors. Respondents who self-reported an error frequently blamed themselves.
