Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit|SAMHSA

Publication Update: Toolkit to Help Prevent Opioid Overdoses

SAMHSA has published an update to its Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit, which is designed to help healthcare providers, families and other community members prevent overdose deaths related to opioid use. The toolkit addresses several factors that can lead to an opioid overdose death. The toolkit also discusses when and how to use naloxone, a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. Opioid Overdose Prevention Toolkit

This toolkit offers strategies to health care providers, communities, and local governments for developing practices and policies to help prevent opioid-related overdoses and deaths. Access reports for community members, prescribers, patients and families, and those recovering from opioid overdose.
