The nexus of nursing leadership and a culture of safer patient care.

Leadership engagement has an important role in establishing a culture of safety. This review explores the literature defining how leaders contribute to organizational safety and describes gaps that must be addressed to prepare nurses for these roles. Creating leadership educationopportunities for nurses is one strategy to support emerging nurse leaders.
