Board of pharmacy practices related to medication errors and their potential impact on patient safety.

Researchers administered a survey to state pharmacy boards to understand their responses to hypothetical medication error scenarios. Board responses were inconsistent and solutions were mostly focused on education and disciplinary action rather than systems of care. It is not clear that such an approach leads to improved medication safety.
