This all-day public meeting, held on July 31, 2018, examined private sector roles and responsibilities before, during, and after the response to large-scale biological events. It provided participants with a better understanding of private sector views on financial impacts of large-scale biological incidents; public-private partnerships and collaboration in advance of such incidents; and how the private sector can contribute to biodefense, especially before federal assets are mobilized and after federal resources are exhausted.

The Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic conducted this all-day meeting about to establish shared priorities, identify unmet needs, and develop and disseminate evidence-based, multi-sector solutions. The Collaborative, led by the National Academy of Medicine with the Aspen Institute as a founding partner, is a public-private partnership of over 30 organizations committed to reducing rates of opioid abuse and improving outcomes for individuals, families, and communities impacted by addiction.

This one-hour webinar describes three Zika projects taking place in Indian Country, discusses the benefits of Zika prevention and response activities, and identifies successes, challenges, best practices, and lessons learned from these Zika projects. Project activities include implementing an education campaign and engaging in vector control activities such as holding partner meetings, creating educational documents, and identifying homes at high risk for mosquito activity.
